So I first strained my hamstring about 1 and a half years back, during dance. I stopped dancing for about 3 months. When I returned, I slowly stretched it and after about 2 months or so, the pain gradually subsided but I think it didn't fully heal. Then in April last year, it started becoming painful again, so I rested some more and started stretching again, and around July, I was able to get back into full splits without pain. And I don't know when again, it started hurting. I think it's like during October or so. It's never stopped hurting since then. But since the first time I've strained it, I could only feel the pain during and after stretching. Otherwise, my legs can still function normally.

Last month my mum finally agreed to let me go to a physio. So I went for four sessions, and I don't think there's been any improvements. Besides the fact that I came out of the first session super painful and the subsequent sessions were less pain, but that doesn't count because after the last session, I felt the same before I went to the physio. Question is, what am I supposed to feel after physio? Isn't it supposed to decrease my pain? I did ultrasound and heat treatment and some vacuum suction thing during the sessions. The therapist said it's supposed to loosen up my muscles. I wasn't given any exercises to do at home. All I was told was not to stretch. But I keep reading elsewhere that I'm supposed to stretch. What should I do? Should I go to a different therapist? Since my leg is still hurting right now and I'm still playing sports and all that.
