    Knee Crunching/ligament movement

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    Hi

I have been doing exercise and have over extended my leg since then my knee clicks when bent but crunches when squatting.

I can feel my ligaments moving on the left hand side of my left knee, i have heard that this is an alignment issue.

ANY help, stretches anything to get it back to normal.

    There is no pain

    thanks
    ste

    Re: Knee Crunching/ligament movement

Have you been to a Dr or physio to assess your knee. If not you need to do so. Stretching only wont resolve the problem other modalities may needed to be added as well such as strengthening. Cant tell you what is the problem because you need a health care profesional to perform some special testing for your knee for possible damage prior prescribing any modalities.

    Dear squaddie:

You do need someone with aa knowledge of anatomy and physiology to examine this. There are several possibilites which come to mind. You will probably be examined for meniscus and ligament problems. However, one area which could be overlooked is the poplitus and planterius muclses at the posterior or back of the knee. When you are examined, be sure that they consider these.

You can do a self test by pressing GENTLY into the area behind the knee. If there is pain, these are pprobably involved.

    Best regards,

    Neuromuscular.

    Neuromuscular.
Hyperextension at the knee involves 2 ligaments most often the case is ACL. When ACL and meniscus damage occurs then yes the popliteus is involved. Plantaris once again is subject to the person to have that muscle.
