    Arthroscopic bankart surgery rehabilitation

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
I had Arthroscopic ban-kart surgery on my left shoulder two weeks ago..
    I'm feeling better now..

But one thing which is scaring me is..
For first 2 weeks from date of operation Doctor asked me to lift left hand upwards and in horizontal direction by 30 degrees.. with support of right hand...

For fist week i did 30 Degrees..with support of right hand...
But staring from second week , i started doing 90 degrees (with support of right hand), since i was not feeling any pain at all .....

But after meeting doctor after 2 weeks , he scared me saying that .. doing 90 degrees in second week itself.. the string and anchor might get loosen..

But I didn't try anything beyond my limits..

Please help me does this cause failure of operation.....
    I'm really scared on this...

    Regards,
    Vijay.

    Re: Arthroscopic bankart surgery rehabilitation

    hi vijay,
first off - it is always best to stick to your surgeon's instructions!!
obviously without assessing you, it is difficult to say whether you will have done any harm - but don't stress yourself out.
the most obvious sign of a problem would almost always be pain. and potentially some swelling or warmth.
the fact that you were doing a slow, small movement, assisting with your other hand means that the risk of damage is lower than, for example, if you slipped and took sudden force through your arm.
so think positive (healing!) thoughts, and listen to what your surgeon says for the rest of your rehabilitation and you should hopefully be fine.

    Aircast Airselect Short Boot
    Dear Candy,
Thanks a lot, your words of confidence game me a sigh of relief..

As such I'm not having any severe pain or swelling.. things are just fine with me...
But i was little scared.. and wanted to know what exercises others are practicing, who have undergone this operation...

Also when I referred to these documents..
    Bankart Repair Rehabilitation
As per this link, it says up-to 90 Degree is fine during the initial 5-14 days.. which I just followed.

    Others please share your experience..

    Regards,
    Vijay.
