    Levator Scapulea Syndrome?

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
For the past 2 years I have hand major shoulder/neck pain on my left side. Here is my background

I have a desk job and have always had some pain/tightness between my shoulder blades. 2 years ago i separated my left shoulder by landing on it (falling head first). Ever since then, as my shoulder has healed i have noticed constant and sometimes severe pain at the base of my neck, top of my scapulae, between my shoulder blades, and along my upper trap.

I have been going to many doctors and specialists but have not been able to get a straight answer. Recently we have determined by MRI that i do have a minor labrum tear in my left shoulder. Which is odd because i have never dislocated my shoulder, only separated.

    Other symptoms:
Limited neck movement when looking side to side
When i turn my head to either side i have pain in the base of my neck on left side
When i touch ear to shoulder on left side i have pain in left base of neck
When i touch ear to shoulder on righ side i have pain in base of left neck
Tucking chin to chest gives stretching sensation in left neck and along inside of left scapulae
I have a long tender lump running horizontal along what i think is my left upper trap
I have very tender spots on my upper scapula border (especially on the corner of inside border and upper boarder)
If i lift my arm above my head and put hand behind neck for 1-5 minutes i get tingling in my fingers

I'm at the piont where this is constantly on my mind and i am constantly trying to adjust my posture to aleviate the pain/irritation. however i think its at the point that i dont even knwo what posture is correct etc. The only time i feel relief is if im exercising ie. running, playing a sport. Im not sure if this is because my mind is off it or because im doing something diffrent with my muscles.

Also i am fairly fit, attend the gym often and play a few recreational sports. Ive tried accupuncture, chiropractic and massage therapy all of which only provide temporary relief (2-6 hours).

Any advice, or help would be appriciated.

There are therapists out their that have special training in something called manual therapy . They specialize in a hands on approach . With specialization in what seems to be your issues . They go through vigorous training to get those creditionals . Look up thoracic outlet syndrome and see if that rings true for you . Some times it not one issue . You could have postural / trigger point issues along with an issue like thoracic outlet syndrome .seek out a manual certified physical therapist . Maybe through their data base
