Had an ultrasound done on my shoulder as ive had back problems now for over a year with "facet joint syndrome?" in between my T2-T8 area and more so to the left side(same side as scanned shoulder) but now have to wait a while to see a specialist for advice.
Ultrasound result notes said the following...
Now I must have done this injury years ago (atleast 4+ i can remember it clicking/being weaker till atleast then) as I can't remember ever being significantly injured but have noticed my shoulder clicking for a few years now.the biceps, subscapularis and infraspinatus tendons have a normal appearance. The supraspinatus is heterogeneous and flattened posteriorly suggesting and old partial thickness tear. No bursal or joint fluid is seen. There is some supraspinatus impingement on abduction.
I don't get any shoulder pain whatsoever, only some slight discomfort if I have it raised too high when laying down and put weight/pressure on it. The only limitations I have with it is if I put my arms out to the side full stretch n rotate my arm so my palms are facing up I can't raise my arm above shoulder height.
As for strength factor I'd say it's probably 10-20% weaker than my other(dominant) side.
Also I have been lifting weights for about 4 months now, should I stop lifting immediately? Will continuing cause more damage?
I really enjoy it but don't want to do something to it that can't be fixed?
