    Brief Medical History Overview

    Age: 28, Male, Presenting Problem Since: 2 years, Symptom Behaviour: Worse, Symptoms Worse (24hr Behaviour): All day long, Aggravating Factors:: Sport, Easing Factors:: Cold water / no sport, Investigations: MRI a few times, No Diabetes, No history of High Blood Pressure, No Medications, No Osteoporosis, No Hx of Cancer, No Unexplained Weight Loss, No Bowel/Bladder issues

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    Hi I'm a twenty eight year old male , I damaged my ankle two year ago and had to have some cartilage removed from my ankle approximately 1 cm , I had a micro fracture to stimulate re growth , I am trying to get back playin sport at. High level but at thev min it is still really sore , I would like to train really hard like I used to , is there any thing that I can do to help it, or am I doomed long term?

    Hi Seanmc,

    Best advice I can give you is get to a nearby Chartered Physiotherapist that has dealt with high level sports teams - They will have seen the outcomes of a few of these procedures and give you an indication of where you're at. Unfortunately once you have surgery that's not always the problem just "fixed" and unless you've rehabbed everything from ROM, strength, balance not just in the ankle but higher up the chain - problems may persist.

    You can always go back to the Surgeon and see what they say - Generally i'd try make sure you have rehabbed everything to as high a level as possible first - That way they know you've covered everything else.

    It's not a quick fix unfortunatley - Good Luck
