Loosing Weight While Recovering From A Partial Pec Tear

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
Hi, I partially tore my pec tendon where it inserts at my shoulder while bench pressing on Halloween. Since then I've avoided any heavy training and generally eaten a calorie surplus. The injury is much better but it still feels tight and 'fragile' in certain positions. I am now wanting to lose some bodyfat but I'm concerned that a calorie deficit might not be optimum in terms of recovery.

What are people's views on this?

You already answered it yourself and you are absolutely correct. If you look around on google scholar you will find more information especially on protein deficite and recovery.

Also i assume that you`ve eaten a calorie surplus up until now to retain as much muscle mass as possible - If you start reducing calorie intake now without restarting resistance training you are sure to lose more muscle in the end than you would have if you had just tried to meet your energy need and not overeat to begin with.

    just my op
