Hi All,
The first time I noticed pain in my left ankle was during a football match whilst I was acting as an Assistant Referee. There is a crabbing technique (sidestepping) However, many of the surfaces are uneven and holes are not uncommon (Nov 2016)
At the beginning of December 2017 the pain slowly became more unbearable, to the point where I was struggling to put any weight on my left foot. I adjusted the way I was walking to compensate the unbearable pain in my left foot.
I took myself to hospital one night and had the ankle/leg x-ray'd which came back clear. The Doctor/Nurse checked the movement in my foot. They did a 'test' on my Achilles which also came back clear. I was advised it was a muscular injury that would subside in 72 hours. It is evident that the left ankle is swollen.
I had a consultation with a Physio last week - he checked the movement in my foot against my symptoms. He worked the ankle for 45 minutes using a variety of techniques ultrasound, accupunture, deep tissue massage (pain was evident as he was massaging down towards the ankle) He believes this is a ligament/tendon issue. He did inform me that 'working' the area may not help at all but I am becoming increasingly frustrated at not being able to exercise.
The pain can only be described as a dull ache in the ankle, but it is driving me crazy!
Any advices/help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark
