Hi everyone
First post and would really appreciate any help. I tore the labrum in my right shoulder in a freak accident about 5 years ago and had surgery to repair it. The shoulder is fine now and I am back in the gym lifting weights - my favourite hobby, however my right bicep constantly strains / pulls under any moderate to heavy load, requiring 1-2 weeks to heal afterwards. I have tried starting out with a really light weight and doing bicep curls for high reps every couple of days but as I slowly progress up the weight it eventually gives way at around a 6 kg Dumbell. I have attempted this several times but with no success. Pull ups are a no go and so are many other back exercises. Furthermore, I was striping wallpaper a few weeks ago and on the second day could feel it getting really tight so had to take a day off to prevent it getting worse. It seems like it is extremely susceptible to straining and I cant figure out why. I have no idea what to try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Hey,
Sorry to hear about your issues! When you say ”gives way”, is that because of weakness or pain? How many reps are you doing with a 6kg dumbell for it to give way? Also, when you say it’s getting tight and becoming strained, are we talking the ”whole” bicep or more of the insertion up at the shoulder?
