Brief Medical History Overview
knee/thigh problem
Hello everyone,
I have previously had jumpers knee after a lot of running (over lots of hills), with
severe pain under my kneecap!
After eliminating running for several weeks/months, and subsequently increasing my cycling, I have a new problem to worry about:
Here are the symptoms:
- short, sharp pains in lower thigh (on inside front of leg), and where it connects to the kneecap. (note: pain is on side of kneecap (inside front of leg), not on top)
- more pain while sitting behind desk
- pain goes away, for the most part, once warmed up and cycling
- some clicking when extend knee
(- also associated seems to be: tight hamstrings)
the pain is distinctly different, and also in a different location, from what i experienced after running, does this mean it is probably not patellar tendonitis ?
i'm not sure whether it is likely to be
(1) a thigh muscle that is pulled, and therefore to apply heat and massage, or
(2) tendonitis around kneecap, requiring ice etc.
Any thoughts?
Thank you for helping!
