I am a physio. registered in Hong Kong.I have also registered in the state of Victoria,Australia since 1987.I renewed the registration every year until 1998 when I thought I might not work in Australia in the near future and misled by the board that I could renew the registration once I paid back the fees. When I immigrated to Australia last Oct.,I was shocked to find out that I could not renew the registration as the board ceased to accept UK and Hong Kong qualifications from 4 May 2000.Could you offer any help to me on re-gaining the registration status?

Not sure if you are still looking after the comments added to this post, in case yes please advise how can you help an Indian physiotherapist in securing job in Sydney. I've less than a year's experience but had to leave the job in between to join my husband in sydney as 457 dependent. As now I'm here so I'd like to continue my job as physiotherapist and would reAlly be interested to know how you can help me in this regards.

Hi Richard,
I'm a newly qualified physio and I'm currently researching what the best plan of action is for me to be able to work as a physio in Australia. I have contemplated also working in NZ and have heard that it is easier to go to NZ first and then over to Australia. Would you have any advice for me? Do I have to have Australian physio registration even for locum work?
Any advice is greatly appreciated
