Re: How to I improve direct contact with potential patients

This is the problem faced my most of physiotherapists in some of the countries.i am an indian physiotherapist you also faced the same thing.physiotherapy is budding profession which need a lot of awareness.peoplewill incline more towards the treatment where there is no need of any effort and they also expect immediate results.but physiotherapy need more effort from the patient and also long term. moreso the result depends on the patients compliance.unfortunately apart from patients some physicians also donot realise the importance.we canot educate the physicians because they should know that holistic treatment could achieve good results.so facing these problems need lot of positive approach and confidence. we should educate the patient but not on the first day.first we should work out to show some improvement.and as the patient show interest educate him. this benefited patient will educate two more patient.so friend dont worry play your role.

Re: How to I improve direct contact with potential patients

    Nice question!

I think this is one every one of us ponders from time to time.

The very fact of the matter is Physiotherapy needs to continue to produce results, report these results, and we all should continue to share how to get results in the shortest amount of time.

Considering more and more people are joining health clubs and gyms every year there is a large proportion of the population that is heading towards positive commitment for health. And the thing is physiotherapy is very much a profession which asks the patient to 'heal thyself'. We simply do not provide passive forms of treatment, and at the same time the treatment that is offered usually does not have an immediate (within minutes) effect.

Hopefully others will contribute some ideas on how to motivate patients and how to increase compliance in regards to treatment, as well as promotion of the profession of physio.

    Regards
