    Re: help about pilates

    Hi there,

Pilates ( pih-lah-teez ) is a movement system that uses spring-driven machines as well as a series of floor exercises to increase strength, felxibility, stamina and concentration. There are infinite sytles and breeds, from rehabilitative Pilates to Pilates on a ball.

Here is a link where you can find some of the exercises with pictures. http://www.myfit.ca/exercisedatabase/pilates.asp

There are still many others and if you are interested in doing it at home try the book "Pilates body in motion" by Alycea Ungaro.

    Regards,
    Charlize29

You can also look on the link of the Pilates Foundation UK. This is Europes leading and longest standing Pilates Organization and it is the only one that offers a full 2 year training program. The membership is small but the quality is extremely high and the best trained teachers can be found from this organization.

    Their link is http://www.pilatesfoundation.com/

    Re: help about pilates

    Taping
Alot of the Pilates exercises, especially the mat exercises are the same like the ones we learn in our Physio education, It gets more technical when their equipment is involved....
Its a very interesting technique... and its slowly springing interest in the middle east though it has not caught on yet.
