I am 15 weeks post acl reconstruction surgery & have been recovering well. However I have just noticed when I bend my knee too far a loud clicking noise can be heard. Is this anything serious?

Few more details:
Do you feel the clicking? Where is it? Superficial/Deep? Front/Back? Medial/Lateral?
Is the clicking painful?
Does it happen in a weightbearing position? (i.e., squatting, kneeling) or in a non-weightbearing position? (supine or sitting heelslides)
When did it start? have you started anything new like running or jumping?
It's just started doung in recently. I just sit & move my knee far back, not weight bearing & hear a loud clicking noise, but no pain. I'm a bit concerned cos up till now I've been making very good progress & hope to be back to first team rugby after Christmas.
This is usually not a problem if you have full ROM and it is not painful. It is called crepitus and is fairly normal if non-painful. It could also be a plica clicking if it is on the medial aspect of the knee - this is only a problem if it becomes irritated. Just make sure you have strong LE musculature and work on flexibility (hamstrings, quadriceps, gastroc-soleus, hips) and this should clear up.
keep me updated on how this works out.
