Good question, I would maybe quite fancy dubai as well so any advice would be appreciated! I was led to believe that you needed a few years experience over there though as they wern't short of physios...
I qualified recently as a physio but cant seem to find a job (as many others) here in the UK. Im looking to go abroad, and was thinking of dubai. Just wondering if any other newly qualified physios have managed to get anything in dubai.. and how easy/difficult it is for a physio with limited experience to get work there.
Also, do you have to register with the health board there or sit an exam before you can work as a physio?
Thanks

Hi there,
Dubai needs physios with UK exp.in fact alot of governement hospitals & private clinics are looking for western educated physios. You need to have a license in order to work as a physio as mayb d case anywhere else..
U can visit Dubai Health Authority ( DHA ) * - * Home or dha.gov.ae for further details regarding license and hospitals.
wish u both luck.

Liberata.

Hi,
did you manage to get any work in dubai?
I have under 6 months experience in an MSK setting and just seeing what the possibilities are as my husband may get some work out there and would move together.
I have read that I would need 1-2years exp. Does anybody have any additional information about working as a physiotherapy trainee/resident?
Would private companies take on candidates with less than a years experience?
Thanks
Hi huliahoop ,
In Dubai if you want to practise as a physiotherapist need to get DOH (Department Of Health) Licence, and other emirates except Dubai MOH (Ministry Of Health) Licence is required. For Both Licenceses minimum 2 years years work exp required, If you vl have look at these websites www.dohma.ae, www.moh.ae then u vl get clear idea..

Hello there!
I am a second year Master Student completing my final year in the Master of Physical Therapy Program in London, Ontario, Canada. I too would love to move to Dubai once I become a registered Physiotherapist in November 2013. From the above threads I understand I need to complete a certifying examination with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)? I will further look into that.
If you have any other suggestions or recommendations on how a new Canadian grad (with a Master-level degree, over 1025 hours of clinical experience and over a year's work experience as a PTA) could land a job in Dubai, I would be more than grateful! Or if you have some connections and are willing to share that too would be most helpful.
Sincerely,
Kate
Hi Kate ,
As u said that u r going to omplete masters in November 2013, In the mean time u can try to appear the licencing exam (Dubai Health Authority and Ministry of health) via prometric , just go to the below website and register.

Thank you Gopinath for your quick response to my question. Just to clarify (and to ensure I understand 100%) the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) are two separate licensing exams I would have to take?
I really do appreciate your help and guidance. I'm sure the further I look into this big move, the more questions will arise, at which point I'll be back on to ask
Sincerely,
Kate
Hi Kate,
By using DHA licence you can work only in dubai, If you want to work Other emirates (except Dubai and Abudhabi) you have pass MOH licence, for Abudhabi you have to appear for HAAD( Health Authority Of Abudhabi) licencing authority. So you can choose which ever you want.

This is extremely helpful, thank you again!
Hi Guys,
I will apply for DHA in Dubai. I need to tale an exam after evaluation. Can anyone tell me about this exams like?
What books to prepare from and what to learn?
best Regards:
Henrietta
Hi everyone, I posted in this thread around a year ago. I since found work out in Dubai working on an upgraded licence from PTA to PT.
I since found out that DHA licence requires 2 years experience (whether that is post grad or combined experience with study/masters I'm still not too sure). Healthcare city also does a PT licence requiring 1 years post grad experience.
I had quite a negative experience in Dubai and have returned back to the UK to work. I will not slander anything or anyone public ally but if anyone wants to find out about my experiences then I am fine to chat privately. Basically beware of small clinics and check your contracts carefully. Employers have more rights than the employee out here. Being from a western country I would try and work within a western organisation personally second time round and I would come out here with the right amount of experience. It was a big hassle for me personally trying to upgrade.
HI,
Finally I also get through the DHA process and currently I am looking for a job there. Can you share your negative experience with me please?
my email is: [email protected]
Thank you sooo much!
Henrietta
Hey, i was also looking for some good jobs around and found a website with job offers also in Dubai! it'snot my dream destination, but maybe you can find something for you
medpharmjobs.pl
good luck!
Hi Everyone,
I had posted on this forum too maybe around 2010 or something .
I have worked for a small clinic and yes, please read the contract carefully.
I also worked for an international hospital, Mediclinic, and I found it a very enriching experience in all aspects of work ethics and educational growth alike.
I am presently working in Canada and was blessed with Dubai as my transit experience.
I wish each of you the very best .
If anyone is interested in Mediclinic, please apply to their official website.

Hi there, i am from india I heard that dha physio exam requires sponsor from dubai? Is it true information? I am planning to work in dubai....kindly help me out.
Hi Kataria Hitesh, as far as I know, one doesn't necessarily need a sponsor as I gave the exam as an independent Physio in 2008. U can call the DHA or mail them for further confirmation if their rules have changed. Home Page
Thank you liberata carey.
Sir, 1. should I apply by myself or should I hire an agent for dha...?
2.i have searched in dha websites They require GOODSTANDING CERTIFICATE, what is it...?
this forum is really Very usefull.....
Hi Hitesh,
Good standing certificate is like a character certificate from your previous employers or the authority in charge of the Physio license in the country u work in.
U can go to Dubai on a visit visa and apply yourself.
I will now leave u to contact the dha on their website as rules change and I am not in Dubai anymore.
All the best!
Hi,
i am also planning to apply for my dha licensing. I have a masters degree from UK and one and a half year of work experience. Is anyone aware of the new experience requirements after they merged all three( moh, dha and haad). I think it's 2 years exp. for bachelor and 1 yr for masters degree. Can anyone please confirm this..??
regards.
Finally i am appearing for DHA PHYSIO EXAM ON 15TH MARCH, can anyone plz tell me which book i have to read??
right now i am refering from NPTE. And what book content is very important to pass dha?
hello, have you passed the dha exam? is this only with computer or oral too?
