    working in South africa

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
I am looking to work in south africa, in the jonhannesburg/pretoria area from about august/september time this year and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of places to work or any tips/advice for working in south africa - all would be gratefully received! I am currently submitting my application to sit the HPCSA exam which will probably be in september but have so far not had much luck finding out about the job application process.

    Posts in Pretoria

    Hi!

I'm a South African physiotherapist working in Pretoria. I would advise you to contact the North Gauteng branch of the South African Society of Physiotherapy (SASP) at [email protected]. They will be able to forward ads on posts available in Pretoria to you.

You can also consider joining the SASP if you plan to work in SA on a long term basis.

There are quite a lot af private posts available in Pretoria at the moment working in private hospitals and out patients. I'm not so sure about availability of posts in Government Hospitals.

Good luck!! South Africa has a very stimulating physiotherapy environment with lots of great courses for continueing education. You are going to love working here!!

Not sure where you are from but they have a rule that you have to work in a public hospital for 3 years (might even be 5!!) - nightmare for Aussies! I nearly worked there with a physio in Rosebank )?? can't exactly remember??). I trained as a pilates instructor and they was going to employ me as such to get around the rules. Good luck - it is not easy
