well....let's put it this way...it won't hurt. I use a chondroitin supplement for my knees.

No. I've just treated a lot of osteochondral defects in ankle, knees, etc... If just takes time for it to heal. If you get full ROM in all planes and strength/proprioceptive abilities/neuromuscular control in your ankle it should begin to feel better.
