    Brief Medical History Overview

    Post Ankle ORIF surgery

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    Hi,

I recently had ORIF on my Talus that was fractured (just a couple of screws). I've never had a broken bone or any surgery before and am unsure how much pain is normal?

Its been 5 days since surgery and when I lower my foot (from raised position) even for a few seconds the pain is unbearable. Thats even after just having painkillers. Does anyone know how long this pain goes on for? I would have thought this would have subsided a couple of days after surgery?

any info, much appreciated. Its killing me not even really being able to walk on crutches because of the pain.

    Thanks

    Aircast Airselect Short Boot
    Hi,
I had an ORIF to my left ankle and fibula last Jan, I was still in lots of pain post surgery esp when I lowered my foot - this was due to the swelling, Keep it elevated as much as possible. When the cast comes off do hot and cold treatments on it to help reduce swelling
