Brief Medical History Overview
Acetabullum fracture
Greetings, This is my first post here so please be patient with me.
On Dec. 05/2010 I had an ATV accident and as a result of the impact--I was thrown from the machine and landed fully on my LH side. I was diagnosed with an "undisplaced comminuted fracturing of the acetabulum" by an Ortho doctor after a CT scan. The initial xrays were negative and my GP doctor told me I had eggshell like fractures of the acetabulum. I spent the first month basically in a wheelchair/crutches and the 2nd month on crutches. It is now the 3rd month and the Ortho doctor as me slated for a set of full Xrays on March 8th/2011. I am about to start at a private Physio clinic for the pain and range issues.
My questions are....
What are long term issues? Deformity ? range of ability, back to work... What should I ask/expect of my Physiotherapist?
I am able to put some weight on the LH side now and my range has improved but my balance is off and I am experiencing pain at times just below the tailbone and pubic bone area. Also I have impinging pain on the inside thigh. I am tired easily compared to my old self.
Sorry for the long post, I hope that someone can make sense of my ramblings, I am just a bit scared of what the future may hold in regards to this injury. Any thoughts/advice/stories would be appreciated.
