Hey, you may start tightening up again, but why not enjoy the day and go for a bike ride? Get a foam roller so you can roll out your legs after a ride and that's like getting a massage each time you roll.

Dear Physios:
I just received a deep tissue/soft tissue massage to improve some lightly strained abductor muscles (running injury apx. 4 weeks ago). I am also an avid cyclist. I would like to get on a ride soon but am unsure how long I should stay off the bike after a massage. If I were to go on a light 1-2 hr ride the following day, would I be counteracting the positive effects of the massage?
Any insight into the standard procedure for post-massage exercise would be a great help.
Thanks!
