Can Chronic Compartment Syndrome cause permanent damage?
I have had Chronic Compartment Syndrome of the Flexor Hallucis Longus muscle for at least three years now. Surgery was not an option as my symptoms did not fit the criteria of a normal case of the CCS. I have a constant ache of the affected area/limb that gets progressively worse when exercising, especially when walking up an incline. This is like a full feeling that sometimes becomes numb but my main concern is whether it is possible to have permanent damage?
