Exclamation Loss of strenght In One arm and wrist..HELP NEEDED

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
On Friday I noticed a loss in bicep strenght in my right arm while trying to get the dumblells up to shoulder press, but I didn't think much of it and finished off the presses on the smiths.

But today was my back and biceps workout and I noticed a considerable loss in strenght in my right side. I couldn't even curl the dumbell on my right side whereas the left side was fine...? and my right side kept "dying out" on all back exercises.

Also there is a loss of strenght in the wrist if i try and extend it upwards (palms facing down)

There is no pain in the actual arm apart from a constant pain around the right rear deltoid, neck/trap area which has been there for a week.

Any know what it could be...? like i said there is no pain in the actual bicep, just a huge loss in strenght...hope it's nothing serious.

Is there any tingling or numbness? Same type of feel you get when you hit funny bone?
    How does your neck feel?

    Hi,

The only slight numbness i can feel is in the pinky finger from time to time, but nothing like when I hit the funny bone. My neck still feels sore when i look down and to the right. Feels sore around the trapezius and upper shoulder on my right side.

Re: Loss of strenght In One arm and wrist..HELP NEEDED

Might be a ligament tear I have seen significant tears in gym goers that. Lift heavy weights and normally because their strength is very good they don't notice pain for a while and in the movements they do get pain they just avoid.
    Ac joint is most common.
Try scratching the ban with effected arm see if it gives any pain sensation and try the same with a heavy draw opening and closing.
It did sound like a nerve or nerve root lesion (c5) but without tingling or numbness it would be rare.

Thanks for the reply, there is some pain when trying to scratch the back under the front of the shoulder with the effected arm. I've got an appointment with the physio today, so shall see what he says.

Re: Loss of strenght In One arm and wrist..HELP NEEDED

I would guess at AC joint strain causing impingement or long head of bicep. I would see what they say but if it hasn't improved in a few weeks get a x-ray, ultrasound or MRI for best management going forward.
    Goo luck
