    Angry Quad Popping/Pulling sensation

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    Hi Guys,

I would really appreciate some help on this, I am experiencing a popping sensation when i hit a ball, i am ok running and cycling, i have not visted a physio as yet due to financial dificulty which i am due to over come in the coming months.

This only happens when i hit a football via my right side, it originally happened in May when i turned and hit a ball, i rested it for a month and happened again in July to which i applied Ibrufen rub and rested and last night again i have experienced the pop/pull to which i get a bit off pain.

Would really appreciate an insight to what might be going on.

    Thanks

    Garreth

    Re: Quad Popping/Pulling sensation

When you turned, was it the foot you stood on which is popping now? Did/does it swell up? Where does/did it hurt? Can/could you fully extend your knee and bend it fully? Does your knee lock sometimes? Is the knee warm? You see you don't give enough information to help you. Popping can be meniscus, ITB, Patella and sometimes the hip (while you think it is the knee) So describe as good as you can how it happened, where you feel pain and so on.

    Re: Quad Popping/Pulling sensation

Hello There, Thank you for your reply
It happened again last night and the pain is getting worse,
Slight bruising in spots, it is when i hit a ball, the pain shoots up throw my thigh(quad) area and there is a popping/pulling sensation through my right quad,
Knee is ok to bend and extend, the pain is on the upper quad and in toward the inner quad, stretching quad is painful.

I dont think its a pull in the muscle as this is 3 times now its happened and its only when i kick a ball at long distance does it happen. Originally it happened when i had my back to goal and turned to hit a ball at a fast pace

    Aircast Airselect Short Boot
Stretching of the quads is [ainful, where do you feel the pain? If you palpate the quads is there any focal point of pain (from groin/ lower abdomen to knee)?
