The first time it appeared was after a particular week when I did a lot of hard right leg roundhouse kicks. I also played indoor soccer that week too, so I was kicking a ball during that week.

It only seems to happen when my hip is 'contracted' (I guess that's the word), ie when I am sitting for a long period of time, or extended, like when I do bench press. It happens after this.

But it doesn't feel exactly like a muscle cramp, there's just a slightly similar feeling as if something is contracting or spasming.

from all i read from your information u have muscle strain may be rectus femoris or one of the adductors
whatever it is , you must take rest fro strenous or sportive training for at least 2 weeks and you mjust see sports physicaltherapist for deep friction massage and good rehabilitation regiem

    Re: (weird?) hip pain

    Hello, I have another question.

Obviously soccer and kicking are out of the question, are there any other movements I must stay away from?

I don't feel any pain from running, nor from squatting.

Am I allowed to continue squatting with weight and going for jogs to stay fit?

    Re: (weird?) hip pain

about runing and squating i have an advice . you should delay it for one week to give chane for healing . but squating try to delay it more i dont want any heavy activites over quadriceps or hip flexors but as i said you must see physiotherapist to apply deep friction massage for proper orientation of collagen fiber and proper healing and sessions of stretching is pain allowed that .
